Chandrayaan-3 India's mission to the moon and the first-ever mission to land near the moon's south pole. The lander and rover will explore the moon for 14 Earth days. Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar surface. It consisted of a Lander, Rover and Propulsion module to carry the landing module till 100km lunar orbit. Chandrayaan-3 is an ISRO mission to demonstrate landing and roving capabilities on the Moon's south pole. It launched on July 14, 2023, and landed on August 23, 2023, with scientific payloads to study the lunar surface and Earth. Chandrayaan-3 is India's third lunar mission, launched with its lander, Vikram, rover and Pragya with the objective of landing near the South Pole region of the Moon.
