In the village of Kantara , a sacred well holds a secret. A young boy believed to be born of divine will is found inside and adopted by a tribal woman, who names him Berme. As Berme grows up, he ventures beyond the forest and into the Bangra kingdom's port after an encounter with the newly crowned King Kulashekhara and his minister, Bhogendra. Kantara is a story set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada which explores the ideological conflict of human and nature. A battle of ego swirls along tradition and culture of the land. Will Shiva, the protagonist of the film be able to reinstate peace and harmony in the village perceiving his existence? During the Kadamba reign, fictional feudatory land Bangra’s ruler King Vijayendra, on his venture to kantara meets his final fate in the mystical forest. On witnessing this, his son Rajashekara seals the borders. Later Prince Kulashekara reopens by massacring them. Protagonist Berme, seeking prosperity, crosses the divide & sparks a clash of faith, power, destiny between the Kingdom and Nature.
