Rajouri , Jan 22, KNT: In response to the mysterious deaths of 17 individuals, including 13 children, Badhal village in Rajouri district of Jammu Kashmir has been declared a containment zone. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh ruled out an infectious pathogen as the cause of a mysterious disease that has claimed 17 lives in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, suggesting instead that unidentified toxins may be to blame. Fear and grief writ large on their faces, people in this remote mountain village of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district are stunned by a series of mysterious deaths which happened one after other over the past 45 days. Seventeen people belonging to three families have died due to a mysterious illness in a remote village in Rajouri. A 16-member central team reached the village today to take stock of the situation.
