Shri Dharmendra Pradhan is the current education minister of India . He first started his political career as an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activist in 1983. The minister of education , formerly the minister of human resources development (1985–2020), [1] is the head of the Ministry of Education and one of the portfolios of the union cabinet in the Government of India .
