Since November 2024, both Canada and India have instigated new airport screening measures due to heightened security concerns which directly affects international passengers. Transport Canada has implemented heightened security protocols for travelers heading to India as a precautionary measure. These temporary screenings, overseen by CATSA, encompass hand swabs, X-ray luggage inspections, and passenger screenings. The measures, implemented by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), required additional screening for passengers and their baggage before entering restricted airport areas. Canada has lifted the additional security measures for passengers flying to India .
