In India, the Clinical Trials Registry–India (CTRI) plays a critical role in promoting openness, accountability, and public trust. As a WHO-recognized Primary Registry, CTRI provides public access to essential information about ongoing and completed trials conducted in the country. CTRI is a web-based platform for registration and submission of clinical trials conducted in India. It is maintained by the National Institute of Medical Statistics under the Indian Council of Medical Research. The Clinical Trials Registry- India (CTRI) under National Institute of Medical Statistics (NIMS) is a free and online public record system for registration of clinical trials being conducted in the country. The Clinical Trials Registry- India (CTRI) has been set up by the ICMR's National Institute of Medical Statistics (NIMS) and is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) through the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It also receives financial and technical support through the WHO, WHO-SEARO, and the WHO India Country office.
