Dpdp act: The DPDP Act is

The DPDP Act is an Indian law to regulate the processing of digital personal data and protect the right to privacy. It was passed by the Parliament of India in August 2023 after several revisions and consultations. The Act shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act . The DPDP Act which received the assent of the President of India, establishes a framework for processing digital personal data. It balances the individual’s right to protect personal data with the need to process such personal data for lawful purposes. Proposed penalties for data privacy breach in the DPDP Act 2023 The Data Protection Board has the power to issue penalties up to INR 250 crore.
