Economically Weaker Section ( EWS ) is a subcategory of people in India with annual family income less than ₹8 lakh and no reservation in SC/ST/OBC. EWS got 10% reservation in government jobs and education in 2019 after a constitutional amendment and a Supreme Court verdict. on the concessions and relaxations in standards of selection applicable to EWS ca eg A. The candidates of EWS category are entitled to relaxed standards of selection vis-a-vis the standards of selection adopted for General Category . Q.9 Whether change of category is allowed in case of EWS category candidates? Applicants who wants to perform any Soil Conservation related work on their Agriculture field can avail this service. This is available only for Andaman Residents. EWS Reservations How to Apply? One can apply for the EWS Certificate at their local government authority office/ Tehsil. Also known to be as ‘ Income and Assets Certificate’ this certificate acts as a proof for availing EWS category reservations. Currently there is no online mode of method to apply for the EWS certificate.
