Fatehpur district is one of the 75 districts of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The district has a population of 2,632,733 (2011 Census). Fatehpur city is its administrative headquarters. Fatehpur district is named after its headquarters, the town Fatehpur . District Fatehpur is divided into three sub-divisions: Fatehpur Sadar, Bindki, and Khaga. The District Fatehpur is lying in between two big holy rivers of India Ganga and Yamuna. The ghats of Bhitaura and Asani were described as sacred in the puranas. This is motherland of Martyr Jodha Singh Ataiya, Martyr Dariyaw Singh and and renowned Rashtrakavi Sohan Lal Dwivedi. Fatehpur is a district in northern India, bordering the rivers Ganges and Yamuna.
