Greater bengaluru authority: The Greater Bengaluru Governance

The Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024, is all set to introduce a three-tier governance structure in Bengaluru. It brings together all the parastatals in the city along with the five city corporations and ward committees on a single platform. The city will now be administered by multiple corporations. On top of this, a newly formed umbrella agency — the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) — will play the role of a coordinator. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Karnataka scraps BBMP to form Greater Bengaluru Authority with 5 city corporations, new commissioners, and a 3-tier governance structure.
