The Tamil Nadu government has formally approved the site for a proposed airport in Hosur . The strategic location, situated in Shoolagiri taluk between Berigai and Bagalur, has been selected after meticulous surveys determined its viability for a large-scale aviation hub. Chief Minister M K Stalin in June 2024 announced in the state assembly that the government was planning to set up a new airport spanning over 2,000 acres of land in Hosur with a capacity to handle 30 million passengers annually.
