He was a member of the YSR Congress Party. Reddy was born in the Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh. He was a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly between 2014 until his death. In January 2022, Reddy tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized in Hyderabad, Telangana. [2] He died a month later from a heart attack on 21 February 2022, aged 50. [3] Mekapati Goutham was married to Mr. Sri Keerthi and the couple has two children, Ananya Reddy is their daughter and Arjun Reddy is their son. He had two brothers, Prithvi Kumar Reddy and Vikram Reddy and his father Rajamohan was a previous Member of Parliament of Nellore Lok Sabha constituency.
