04 Mar 2025, 06:15 PM Change in expiry day of NSE derivative contracts from April 04, 2025 [Withheld] Update [March 27, 2025]: The change in expiry day is withheld by NSE until further notice because of the new SEBI consultation paper on expiry days. (NSE circular). Starting April 4, 2025, all derivatives’ expiry days are changing from Thursday to Monday. NIFTY weekly contracts will now expire on Monday of each week instead of Thursday. All monthly and quarterly contracts (NIFTY, BANKNIFTY ... NIFTY Weekly Contracts will now expire on Monday instead of Thursday. NIFTY Monthly, Quarterly, and Half-Yearly Contracts will also shift from the last Thursday to the last Monday of the expiry month. Starting September 1, 2025, all NSE index and stock derivatives including Nifty, Bank Nifty, and weekly contracts will expire on Tuesdays instead of Thursdays. Will BSE derivatives also follow the Tuesday expiry? No. The NSE & BSE have announced changes to the expiry day of index and stock derivatives contracts, effective from 01 September 2025. The expiry day will remain unchanged for contracts expiring on or before 31 August 2025.
